Murphy's Law In Action
 By Kanika, Hipsterpad.com    |

“If there are two or more ways to do something, and one of those ways can result in a catastrophe, then someone will do it.” – Murphy’s Law Or simply put
If anything can go wrong, it will!

Murphy's Constant:
Matter will be damaged in direct proportion to its value.

Murphy's Corollary of the Power of Negative Thinking: "An optimist is never pleasantly surprised."

Murphy's Philosophy: "Smile...tomorrow will be worse."

Addendum to Murphy's Law: You never run out of things that can go wrong. Murphy has provided the core behind why nothing ever gets done on the Earth. It seems as if nature also goes with Murphy’s laws. Is your life predictable like cause and effect? Mine is not. Rather it is a quantum where one event happens and many many new possibilities occur. For instance you drive home thinking you will quickly find a place to park, and run to watch the favorite TV show. Now the axiom activates and you will end up spending 10 minutes driving around in search of a parking space. But if you think that you will NOT find a parking space near your home, you will see a bunch of empty spots.

Murphy’s Law works brilliantly for events, expectations and relationships. The law and its corollaries are universal and they let us become aware of just how powerful our thoughts are. Murphy's Law is s more predictable than Newton's law of motion.

It's always easier to get a partner if you already have one.

The minute you get interested in someone is the minute that someone finds someone else.

In a job interview you need to be intelligent, clear, smart and polite. Even if you are you won’t get it.

You can notice this yourself during your typical day:

If you are in the middle of something and there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong. Even if you are sure that something just cannot go wrong, it will go anyway and that too at the most appropriate time!!! The most intelligent statements will be thought of at the most inappropriate times. For example a pretty girl was chatting for over past 10 minutes and you'll think of a great line to say only the moment she leaves. If you think a relationship is not working for you but you still want to try, it will not work. It is later that you will realize that your lack of faith and effort made it fail.

Murphy's Law serves as the Universe's wake up call. It forces us to welcome change because we are creatures of habit who resist any kind of change. Murphy's Law forces us to see that at times no matter how hard we want something it may not be the best thing for us at that given moment. Or it may appear to be a blessing but actually can be an unforeseen curse in disguise. We look it as rejection but fail to see that many a times it comes to us as a protection. We have heard many incidents where people have just missed the flight which crashed the very next hour, left home to attend a party and only return to see the house was seen on fire. Murphy’s laws can be seen as a mechanism to anticipate the mistakes we can make and practice to avoid them. Let us look at what we are capable of doing, let’s do now. Lets not look back and play that would’ve could've, should've game.

Murphy’s Law has many a variations to frame a book; I am sharing a few interesting ones:

If you build a system that even a fool can use then only a fool will use it.

Deduction: It is pointless to make anything foolproof because a smart person will break it.

Only the worst secretaries stay; competent ones leave to take a better job.

The check-out line next to the one you are in will always be much quicker.

In any given calculation, the fault will never be placed if more than one person is involved.

Deduction: In any given discovery, the credit will never be appropriately placed if more than one person is involved.

If in any problem you find yourself doing an immense amount of work, the answer can be obtained by simple inspection. So, how do like them. Interested in a few more variations? Let me know . . . Happy reading . . .
