Graduating From Hip Hop To Hip-ster  By Rami Even-Esh, Hipsterpad.com    |Email| The life of an artist who is hip hop but hipster clashes in many areas of music. Sometimes people look at me like I'm crazy  teaching Hebrew to gangster-esque backpackers who seem to have lost all hope to the ten dollar dutch master. You know....the cigar... which so perversely penetrates the minds of our "keep it real 88 ers." Recently I attended a food drive at Club Manhatta on Bowery. It was spun by Tony Touch and Louie Vega . People danced like they did in the movie Boogie Nights. Now the Kosha Dillz that I am, I scope out all the fine beings in the place to be, and push my plot to conquer hipster-dom with my DIY attitude. Little do I realize it has already been done. DJ Evil Dee and Bobbito are there. Crazy Legs and most of Rocksteady Crew is there. Subliminal form Israel is there. A lot of big hitters! Q unique and Dstroy of the arsonist too? This is really weird. Samba drums and meringue and bacchata beats. Is that how you spell that music? Although I am late on this boat, I see that underground hip hoppers have begun to realize they must become publicists rather than make public appearances. Graf Writers became 9-5ers making 35-40 G a year in Manhattan living with roomies. We tightened our jeans and grew our hair out. Hell there are even Jew fro's! Space kids on drugs have not dressed the part of BMX and skateboard with a bop of B Boy and flashy Chicago. Now I will wonder what to wear after being on tour for a month and half before I hit SXSW this year with C RAYZ WALZ?
