My Non-Gamer Halo3 Mini Review By Paul, Hipsterpad.com|Email|
Ok, soHalo 3is the hottest thing to hit consumers since the iPhone but is it really worth the $60 price for non-gamers like myself ? To give you my perspective, I must first state that I only played the co-op part and I can't stand playing people online/multiplayer no matter what game it is (I'm online too much as it is and don't want to be getting my butt kicked by 12 year olds that play games 10 hours a day).
I Have Halo 2 So Why Should I Upgrade? Halo 2was a great game and for me the best part about it was the vehicles and using the B button to bash guys. I never was really impressed with any of the covenant (alien) weapons and usually settled for the basic (human) rifles. The weapon I loved the most (and was way too hard to find in the game) was definitly the shotgun. This time around, the new weapons really are geared toward the bash type of player (I think Microsoft took a big hint about how people love face to face kills fromGears Of War)
So what do you get with Halo 3?
All the vehicles and weapons are revamped so they feel smoother and definitly shoot/reload faster. You'll notice the difference I promise you that. The graphics are nice but that's not why I play games. The most important and awesome difference between Halo 2 and Halo 3 would have to be the actual campaign experience. This time around theres actually going to be huge battles that will remind you of Call Of Duty 3.
The Halo 3 team did an amazing job making the game harder by throwing a lot more enemies at you.
Very creative environments actually make you feel as your a big part of the fight.
In conclusion, I was probably one of the few people that wasn't all that excited aboutHalo 3. There were lots of promises of the same old thing in many previews and interviews. Boy was I wrong, I gotta give props to Microsoft for making sure this product was worth every penny and it is.
